In many places Devi (Divine Mother) is honoured and celebrated in the form of Durga in the first three days, followed by three days of honouring Devi as Lakshmi, and the final three days are dedicated to Saraswati. Goddess Durga is also worshipped under nine different names for the nine days of Navaratri.
Meaning of Vijayadashami – Dussehra represents the 10th day of victory. After diving into the depths of our inner self, shedding layers of unhelpful patterns we are ready to step out again into the world with a new and higher of level of awareness and an increased sense of Stability, Clarity and a sense of Direction.

Lakshmi comes from the Sanskrit word “Laksya”, which means “goal” or “pursuit”.The word `Lakshmi’ can be also derived from the roots `La’ which means `to give’ and `Kship’ which means `to inspire’. Thus Lakshmi means the one who gives us the wealth of knowledge that inspires us to achieve the highest state of realization of the Self. Goddess Lakshmi is the direct manifestation of material and spiritual wealth.In most cases however, her name, “Lakshmi”, is synonymous with good luck and power.She represents all that is good, beautiful and sweet in the cosmos. Her name also implies the actualization of spiritual goals. Lakshmi is all about taking action and putting theoretical knowledge and wisdom that you have acquired into action.Her sacred name, Shri, is regarded as one of the holiest words. Not only does the name present a feeling of fulfillment, auspiciousness and contentment, but it also bestows enormous reverence on the word that comes after it.Lakshmi helps people accomplish their goals in life –such as Spiritual goals, food, shelter, resources that are needed to live in the physical world, progeny, patience and courage, abundance, success and knowledge.The symbol of the goddess is the lotus flower. She always pictured with the lotus flower/bud in her hand. The lotus symbolizes beauty, motherhood and purity.
SARASWATIAs this Navaratri begins, we have the opportunity to ask ourselves what is it that is keeping us in the world of illusion.
If we invoke Durga Devi and especially her manifestation as Kali Ma; then She will guide us and reveal to us how to transform our lives right here and now. The Divine Mother is taking us to the state of Shiva during the nine days of Navaratri if we surrender to her fully and let go of control. To a state of dissolution and infinite bliss.
Om Dum Durgayei Namaha (Sanskrit: ॐ दुं दुर्गायै नमः) is a Sanskrit mantra, honoring the powerful Hindu goddess, Durga.
Durga is not only majestic, graceful and magnetic she is also fierce and invincible. Always ready to rush to assist a genuine devotee with a pure heart.
When you connect to a particular Deity with single-pointed focus and concentration you enhance the aspect of this Deity within you. The purpose that we connect to certain Deities or use yantras is alignment, purification and elevation of consciousness.
The Name of the Divine Mother has a very great power. It brings you face to face with the Supreme Consciousness and makes you realise your ONENESS with the Infinite Nature. It expands your consciousness and bestows immortality and liberation.
Feel the infinite power the Name of the Divine Mother contains and chant her Name/s constantly.
The best way to utilise our precious time on planet Earth is to remember who we truly are, to chant sacred mantras, and to sing the glories of the divine mother.
