Shivaratri is the most powerful, auspicious night – the night of Śiva

🔱During Maha Shivaratri on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 the planetary configuration allows us to experience the subtler realms and to balance Shiva and Shakti (Masculine and Feminine). Maha Shivaratri is a Portal of the deepest mysteries of existence and transformation which marks the Union of Shiva and Shakti where Pure Consciousness meets the dynamic and creative force of the Universe (Shakti)

🔱The fourteenth day of every lunar month or the day before the new moon is known as Shivratri. Among all the twelve Shivratris that occur in a calendar year, Mahashivratri, the one that occurs in February-March is of the most spiritual significance.

🔱On this night, the northern hemisphere of the planet is positioned in such a way that there is a natural upsurge of energy in a human being. This is a day when nature is pushing one towards one’s spiritual peak.
🔱Shivratri (in Sanskrit ‘ratri’ means night). Shivratri offers the opportunity to dissolve our limitedness, to experience the unboundedness of the source of creation which is the seed in every human being. Mahashivratri is an opportunity and a possibility to bring yourself to that experience of the vast emptiness within every human being, which is the source of all creation.

If you don’t have a regular meditation practice, meditate at least throughout the night on Shivaratri. This night is highly auspicious for meditation and spiritual practice. Lost Shiva is considered to be the greatest of all yogis, because he is in a constant state of meditation. He is consistently meditating on Narayana / Vishnu because he is aware that everything originates from Narayana.

“I meditate on Vishnu, the great soul, who gives all, who is present everywhere and who resides in the hearts of all creatures, my body is besmeared with ashes and my hairs have been clotted. All my vowed observances are intended for the adoration of Vishnu.”

~ Lord Shiva in Garuda Purana.

Lord Shiva is a param yogi established in samadhi. Such a yogi becomes detached from all the material comforts of life and is established in eternal spiritual tranquility. Shiva is the supreme soul and lives like a total ascetic in constant meditation to avoid distractions of material life.

Shiva always meditates on Shri Vishnu. It’s written that one day in Kailash, while Shiva was in deep meditation, Maa Parvati calls him. And Shiva doesnt respond. And Maa Parvati just stood there watching him. And ultimately when Shiva opened his eyes, Maa Parvati bowed down with devotion and asked ~ I have a question. The whole world meditates upon you, everyone is praying to you, meditating upon you, contemplating you, but upon whom are you meditating?”

Shiva replies, “I always meditate on Shri Vishnu. Shri Ram is always in my heart!”

It is also said that Lord Shiva meditates on Shakti. A friend mention shared the following. The Divine Mother has created the whole world in her womb. And Shiva became the most powerful god in the universe because she gifted Him her third eye. His element is ether (sky) and he is the destroyer of the negativity in the world. He is Bhuteshwaraya, the Master over the Pancha bhutas (five elements).

From the perspective of Shaktism the Goddess (Devi), feminine principle is regarded as supreme.

But even if he would meditate on Vishnu it would include the feminine principle as well since Vishnu (Narayana) and Lakshmi (Narayani) go always hand in hand.

Lakshmi the Goddess of Fortune, Grace and Nobility is an avid devotee of Shiva, to even though she has chosen Vishnu as her consort. Lakshmi is associated with the lotus.

Like the lotus, the Goddess of Prosperity, Lakshmi shows us how to transcend material wealth for spiritual progress. The lotus is a symbol for purity, beauty and transcendence.

The lotuses significance is shown by it’s ability to grow from the muddiest, murkiest water and rise gracefully above. It blooms completely clean and pure into a beautiful flower, returning to the water at night.

To be seated upon a lotus stands symbolically for transcendence. Lakshmi thus represents a state of detachment that transcends the material world.

🔱Salutations to the one who is untouched by the world, yet everything in the world is because of him.
🔱Salutations to the one who like 🔥FIRE🔥 devours Past, Present and Future.
🔱Salutations to the one who is the creator, the sustainer and the destroyer of time and therefore timeless.
🔱Salutations to the ONE who liberates us from the worldly entanglements
🔱Salutations to the one who sustains everything and absorbs everything into him.
🔱Salutations to the one who is all pervasive and the conquerer of death.
🔱Salutations to the ONE who mitigates agony and distress
🔱Salutations to the one who is limitless, all knowing and effulgent.
🔱Salutations to the ONE whose head resides in the sacred Goddess Ganga
🔱Salutations to the ever auspicious ONE.
🔱Salutations to the One who is PURE Consciousness
